Senior Center
Leander Activity Center temporary location approved in 2022- stop gap until the senior center is built.
Approved Senior Center using earmarked bond dollars (project was previously stalled by former council members).
Government Transparency
Opened library for rentals - was previously stopped from rentals by former council members
Re-instated public comments - this was stopped from former council members
Civility with all members of council and adopting council goals with staff earlier this year.
Prepared for meetings and ensure people are following Robert Rules of Order and Open Meetings Act.
Water Projects / Conservation
We just completed a major water project that was pre-planned. We went to Phase 4 -no outside watering for six weeks. We moved out of Phase 4 and back to Phase 2 on Tuesday, April 2nd.
Focused on Water infrastructure projects approved to continue that were previously stalled by former council members
Water conservation (proponent of conserving water, rain barrels and hiring of water conservation professional).
Representing Leander Outside Of The City Council
1) Executive Committee Member on CAPCOG (Capital Area Council of Governments) - Started my 3rd year. Meeting is in South Austin once a month.
2) Clean Air Coalition of CAPCOG - quarterly meeting in South Austin.
3) Aging Advisory Committee Liaison at CAPCOG - quarterly meeting in South Austin.
4) City of Leander Economic Development Advisory Committee Liaison
5) General Assembly Member on CAPCOG (meets twice a year)
About CAPCOG
Serving Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Hays, Lee, Llano, Travis, and Williamson Counties
With more than 90 member governments and organizations, including cities, counties, school and appraisal districts, utilities, chambers of commerce and more, CAPCOG has helped the region recognize opportunities for cooperation and eliminate unnecessary duplication in emergency communications, elderly assistance, law enforcement training, criminal justice planning, solid waste reduction, homeland security planning, infrastructure development, transportation planning and economic development.
CAPCOG and its members’ mission is to continue to strengthen the Capital of Texas ten-county region by supporting urban and rural local governments through coordination, collaboration, and sharing of ideas and resources. I represent Leander on the CAPCOG executive committee.
Focus Areas for CAPCOG- I represent Leander on the Executive Committee of CAPCOG. It meets monthly. I am also is part of the General Assembly which meets twice a year.
Aging Services -I am the Aging Liaison (meets quarterly) - Funding for Meals On Wheels supporting Leander. Approving St David's Foundation - two grants through the Capital Area Initiatives Foundation.
Clean Air / Air Quality - I am on the Clean Air Coalition of Texas.(meets quarterly) The EPA awarded two PM monitoring grants that will expand the program's ability to measure and analyze air pollution across the 5 county Austin- Round Rock, Georgetown Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA).
Economic Development - Planning grant covers a 3 year period. CAPCOG uses membership dues to provide about 70,000 as a match to help cities and counties with economic development.
Emergency Communications - Revenue comes from state 9-1-1 wireless/prepaid fees allocated to the district. Also, CAPCOG provides service for Warn Central Texas which helps residents learn about weather or other events such as the eclipse.
Homeland Security - Made up of several grants that provide training. Recently given a small grant to enhance/expand regional Community Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) in cities and counties.
Law Enforcement Academy: A new 2 year grant starts on 9/1/2023 and will cover 50% of the academy's expenses for cities and counties.
Solid Waste: New two-year state grant includes increased funding due to the region's population growth and increase in tipping fee revenue collected within the region relative to the rest of the state.
Transportation: CAPCOG is in the 2nd year of a 2-year contract with TXDOT Austin District.

The election is in May 4, 2024.
I'm involved in my local Leander community. I currently serve on the Leander City Council - as Mayor Pro-Tem.
I've kept my campaign promises such as: 1) ensuring we start projects committed to bond voters (senior center and other items) 2) keeping the focus on water infrastructure projects to ensure we have enough water for many years to come 3) improving Raider Way, 4) ensuring we have options for water conservation. 5) working with all city council members 6) keeping our city inclusive for all citizens.
